Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
Key locations on the A127 London to Southend Arterial Road have been identified for safety barrier repairs, which is also known as a vehicle restraint system (VRS).
The work will be focused on a 300m section of the A127 east bound, between A1245 on slip and Rayleigh Weir that sits on top of the embankment.
To support these works, a section of the A127 will be closed between the A1245 junction to the A129 junction (travelling Southend bound only).
To minimise disruption, the barrier repairs will be carried out overnight, with restrictions lifted during the daytime.
The work will be carried out between the hours of 9pm and 5am, starting Monday 28 February 2022 and is anticipated to take approximately two weeks to complete.
A road closure will be in place during this time between the A1245 junction to the A129 junction (travelling Southend bound only) to allow safe working.
Advanced warning notices will be in place prior to any works commencing and appropriate diversion routes will be implemented during the closure.
Please note that the programme may be subject to change if affected by poor weather or if unexpected issues arise.
We aim to keep residents and businesses updated via this webpage and site signage. Information will also be shared with local parish councils.
