Oasis Bridge – Overnight road closure

Due to unforeseen circumstances, it has been necessary to amend the works programme and reschedule the overnight road closure planned for Monday 5 July 2021.   

An overnight road closure will now be in place on Tuesday 6 July 2021 for jacking and de-jacking Oasis Bridge. The A138 Chelmer Road will be closed over the bridge in both directions between the hours of 7pm to 5am.

Advance warning signs will be used to advertise the closure and an appropriate diversion route will be in place.

For those travelling northbound a diversion will be in place via the exit slip on to B1137 Springfield Road to join the A138 Chelmer Road via the entry slip.

Those travelling southbound on the A138 a diversion will be in place via the A130, Colchester Road, Eastern Approach to re-join the A138.

Vehicle access under the bridge will be maintained at all times.

Please be assured the road will reopen in the morning.
