About the scheme

As part of the planning consent granted for the new Bloor Homes development on Barbrook Lane in Tiptree, highway improvements are to be carried out.

Arrangements have now been made for these works to take place from 31 January 2022 to construct a new junction on Barbrook Lane, install a raised table at the junction between Barbrook Lane and Grove Road, and resurface Barbrook Lane.

The works will be phased with the support of road closures, which reduce the overall construction time compared with alternative traffic management.

The works

The works are expected to begin on Monday 31 January 2022 and continue until the end of April 2022, subject to weather being suitable and no unexpected issues arising.

Construction will be carried out in phases with traffic management, including road closures, adjusted according to the activities being carried out to ensure the safety of the public and the workforce.

The developer will be working collaboratively with third party organisations to enable use of the road closures for their service connections to the new development where possible, thus reducing the likelihood of future inconvenience to residents.

What is involved and how it may affect you

The majority of these works will take place between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays working up to 1pm.

A small section of Barbrook Lane will be closed throughout the works, with vehicular access provided to properties situated within the closure.

Pedestrian access through the closure will be maintained.
