Essex Highways have a duty to consult on the felling of any street tree in line with S115 of the Environment Act 2021 and 96A of the Highways Act 1980. Those trees that are dead, diseased, dying, dangerous, or where their structural integrity is compromised are exempt from requiring a consultation. Where a consultation is required, the consultation remain open for 28 days, after which a decision will be published on this page.
