Safer, Greener, Healthier Wickford

Nevendon Road in Wickford has been transformed into a Healthy Schools Street zone following active travel funding.

The measures include the installation of raised cushions on Nevendon Road by Wick Drive and the junction with Bromfords Drive; new traffic island/lining on the double bend section of Nevendon Road; the installation of raised tables and zebra crossings at the junctions with Hyde Way, Elder Avenue, Grange Avenue, Oakhurst Drive and near Browning Drive; 20mph signage installed across the whole area; and surface/paving/lining improvements plus vegetation clearance to the existing segregated cycleway in the vicinity of Browning Drive.
