Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
Canvey Island Bridge is located on B1014 Canvey Road, Canvey Island and carries the carriageway over the East Haven Creek.
Preparations are being made to undertake works to replace the existing Impressed Current Cathodic Protection System (ICCP) on the structure. This will include replacing the wiring which is connected to the junction boxes on the piers of the structure. Concrete repair works will also take place on the bridge.
A Scaffolding system will be erected below the structure to allow access for operatives to work on the piers
Works are proposed to commence from May 2021 and are anticipated to complete by the End of October 2021.
River users will not be permitted to pass under the bridge when the scaffolding is in place. There will be the necessary signage and advance warning in place advertising the restrictions.
There will be no impact to the carriageway whilst the works are carried out. Pedestrian access over the bridge will be maintained at all times.
Please note that the programme may be subject to change if affected by poor weather or if unexpected issues arise.
We aim to keep residents and businesses updated via this webpage and site signage. Information will also be shared with local parish councils.
