Local Highway Panels

All 12 Borough, City and District areas have Local Highway Panels (LHPs). They are responsible for making recommendations and setting priorities for Highways schemes in their areas.

Panels are made up of all County Members and, in some areas, a number of Members from the individual Borough, City or District and/or Parish councils. To check on the Panel Members for a particular LHP go to the individual Panel pages.

The LHP Members meet on a quarterly basis to discuss and consider Highways concerns within their local Borough, City or District boundaries. The Panels prioritise the local concerns and make recommendations to the Cabinet Member for the implementation of highway schemes that meet the concerns of local people.

The meetings are not open to the public except by invitation.

The type of highways schemes that can be pursued by the Local Highways Panels are described within the Members’ Guides.

The Terms of Reference and the Members' Guide explain the scope of works that can be promoted by the Local Highway Panels or the Chairs Panel
Complete the form with as much information as possible. It is important to clarify the problem so that the highways engineers can develop the most appropriate solutions.
Members of the public should raise their concerns with their local County / District / City / Borough Member or their Parish Council who will then process the request on their behalf.
