Cycling Grant update - June 2024

The Essex Cycle Grant aims to support cycling activities and initiatives across Essex to engage more people in cycling. 

It is a joint venture between Essex County Council Sustainable Travel Team and Active Essex.

£133,470 has been awarded this year to support 20 projects.

Organisations that have recently been awarded funding include:

• Care4Calais
• JoyRiders
• WOWIE
• Lambourne End Centre
• Jaywick & Clacton Bike Kitchen
• Trust Links
• Trailnet
• Hadleigh Park Cycles
• Women Together

26% of applications received so far have been from organisations that the ECC sustainable travel team haven't worked with before.

Geographical spread of organisations being funded across Essex: 

• Centre 2.3%
• North 31%
• South 40.1%
• West 26.6%
