About the scheme

The retaining wall along Church Hill, White Notley which supports the carriageway running along the watercourse needs to be extended at the southern end.

What is involved and how it may affect you

Works are planned to start on Monday 28 February 2022 and expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.

In order to support these works it will be necessary to close Church Hill to all vehicles 24 hours a day for the duration of the works. This will allow machinery and equipment to be safely manoeuvred on the highway and to provide the necessary protection to the public and the workforce, whilst we dig up the road to construct the new retaining wall.

Advance warning notices will be used to advertise the works and appropriate diversions in place during the temporary road closure. The proposed diversion route can be found in the documents section below.

Church Hill will be closed from Church Mead to Cross Keys car park. Resident access will be managed on the closed section of road during working hours by a gate persons.

Pedestrian and Dismounted Cyclist access will be maintained at all times.
