Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
Arrangements have been made to renew the aging traffic signals located at the junction on A1016 Westway, Writtle Road and Waterhouse Lane.
Works are due to start on Monday 9 January 2023 and expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
Activities will include replacing all above-ground equipment as well as rebuilding the pedestrian refuge islands.
All works will be carried out overnight between the hours of 7pm and 5am, Monday to Friday with lane restrictions in place managed by temporary traffic signals to provide a safe working area while operatives are on site. Lane restrictions will be removed when work is not taking place during the day.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and for safety temporary controlled pedestrian crossing points will be installed whilst the works are undertaken.
Dates may be subject to change if affected by poor weather conditions or if unexpected issues arise.
We aim to keep residents and businesses updated via this webpage and site signage. Information will also be shared with the local parish councils. For details about other roadworks in the area, please visit: one.network or the @essexhighways twitter feed.
