Further to our letter regarding changes to the traffic management arrangement for the rapid transit system works which will affect access to the roads west of Northern Approach Road, we are writing to advise of a change of date for these works
The date for changes to the traffic management for the rapid transit system works which will affect access to the roads west of Northern Approach Road has now changed.
Between 8pm and 6am on 24th September, Northern Approach Road (A134) will be closed between the Mill Road junction and the Asda roundabout.
During the closure a signed diversion route will be in place, although access will be maintained for residents on the western side of Northern Approach Road with marshalls at the junction who will escort traffic through the closure. If any issues arise during the closure, please contact the contractor on 07391 413204.
From the 25th September the road layout will look as per the drawings below, with traffic unable to turn right in or out of Wallace Road and Dickenson Road.
Access for southbound traffic into the estate will need to be made via the roundabout at the southern part of A134 (Northern Approach Road). Vehicles heading to Colchester centre from the estate will be diverted to the roundabout between Nayland Road and Boxted Road where they can then head back down the A134.
This arrangement will be in place for approximately 8 weeks to allow for the construction of the new traffic island that will separate the new bus lane from Northern Approach Road between Wallace Road and Dickenson Road.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
