Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
As part of a planning condition for the development of properties by Redrow Homes associated with their Rayne Road development, junction improvements at the intersection of Pierrefitte Way and Rayne Road have been arranged.
The works consist of Island and Junction improvements at the intersection of Pierrefitte Way and Rayne Road to increase capacity at the junction, having regard to the additional traffic likely to be generated by the development.
Works are due to start on Monday 2 November 2020 and expected to take approximately four weeks to complete.
Traffic management during this period will be by using the existing signalling for the majority of the works but will include temporary 4 Way lights from Monday 19 November to Friday 23 November 2020.
A limited number of overnight works will be required in order to carry out placing new ducts, carriageway resurfacing and white lining works. Overnight works have provisionally been booked for the following nights:
During overnight works, the right turn lane from Pierrefitte Way into Rayne Road will be closed with temporary traffic lights being used for the rest of the junction.
We appreciate this is a traffic sensitive site but, please be assured that every action will be taken by ourselves to minimize disruption and to complete the scheme as quickly and diligently as possible.
The existing pedestrian crossing at Pierrefitte Way will remain open for the duration of the works and a dedicated Traffic Management Operative will guide pedestrians through the works during normal working hours.
Please note that the programme may be subject to change if affected by poor weather or if unexpected issues arise.
The developer/contractor will provide the necessary updates to any affected local residents, businesses and interested parties in advance of the works, including the on-site signage.
This webpage will continue to be updated as new information becomes available as the scheme progresses.
