Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
This project will relocate the existing toucan crossing on Cymbeline Way to around 200m west of Colne Bank Roundabout as part of a wider set of improvements for Colchester.
The aim of this scheme is to complement a wider package of highways improvements across Colchester to improve the performance and capacity of the highways network, reduce congestion and enhance pedestrian and cycle routes.
Design phase: Completed Construction: November 2015 Completion: December 2015
There will be lane closures during off-peak times and overnight works to facilitate more complex construction activities. We will endeavour to keep any disruption to a minimum and every effort will be made to finish any noisy work by 11pm.
This scheme is part of a phased approach to provide improvements to the local highway, pedestrian routes and cycle ways across Colchester. The improvements have been identified to help assist the transport network in managing the expected increase in traffic generated by housing
A public information event on these schemes was held on 21 October 2015 from 2pm – 8pm at Colchester Institute, Sheepen Road, Colchester, CO3 3LL to allow interested parties to view the plans and ask any questions. The plans from this event are available below.
