Burney Drive in Loughton (section of road between Mannock Drive and Jessel Drive) has been identified as a location that requires highways investment. A work programme has been scheduled to:
The work is being undertaken in 2 phases to limit the amount of time each residential property fronts the works.
Phase 1 works are due to begin week commencing 24 July 2017.
The majority of the works will be undertaken during the daytime between the hours of 7.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Saturday. The overall scheme is due for completion in Autumn 2017. Timescales could be subject to change, for example if affected by weather conditions or if unexpected issues are discovered whilst works are under way.
Traffic management/road closures:
Due to the extent of the works, a full time temporary road closure will be required and diversions will be in place for pedestrians and motorists wishing to pass through the area. This information will be displayed in advance on road signage.Bus stops on Burney Drive will be suspended with buses diverted via Willingale Road and Jessel Drive during the works.
Information for residents:
The works will be undertaken in 2 phases to limit the number of properties affected by the works at a time.Phase 1 will consist of works from junction of Mannock Drive to number 141 Burney Drive.Phase 2 will consist of works from number 143 Burney Drive to the Junction of Jessel Drive. Residents will be contacted in advance of works starting on the phase of work fronting their property with additional information to support them through this period. We regret that while each section of road is under construction, the road will be closed and it will not be possible for individual driveways to be accessed by vehicles. Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained for those who fall within the closed section of road under construction. Diversions will be signposted to direct pedestrians to alternative routes, bypassing the works and the closed section of road.Additional information for residents, including frequently asked questions, is available in the Document Section below.
