About the scheme

Improvement works planned for Edinburgh Way in Harlow were carried out during Summer/Autumn 2023. This includes surfacing the carriageway, joint sealing, lining and the installation of new traffic signal loops (between Howard Way Roundabout and Central Road/Templefields Roundabout).

The machine surfacing process used for this scheme provides a substantial, deeper new surface compared with other treatments and although is considered to be a slower treatment to implement, does provide a long lasting finish that can withstand heavy traffic.

Some additional works, including high friction surfacing (HFS) on the KFC junction was identified and carried out during November 2023. Remaining HFS areas will be programmed during 2024.
