Jaywick to Clacton cycle route - final update (May 2023)

We are pleased to announce that works are now complete along the Jaywick to Clacton cycleway. The new route which was part-funded by GBF, was officially opened by members of Essex Pedal Power who took part in a mass group cycle.

To summarise the works that have taken place:

Revetment stabilisation works were undertaken on the land side, to help prevent sand blowing onto the new cycle track
New off-grid lighting columns (wind and solar-powered) have been installed along the sea wall section to improve safety and visibility
A new asphalt cycle track has been installed along the section from Jaywick to Selsey Avenue, Clacton
Additional way-finding signage has been installed.
A new drainage system has been installed along part of the route to manage surface water

Essex Pedal Power Cycle Parking Project update

All of the parking installations have been installed at our sites (Clacton Train Station, Job centre, Library, Jaywick Inclusion Venture site, Clacton Leisure Centre and Clacton Coastal Academy.
