Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
An aerial video showcasing improvements to the public realm areas in Hadleigh Town Centre can now be viewed via the Essex Highways YouTube channel (also included below).
Hadleigh Town Centre has benefitted from public realm improvements designed to make shopping areas along London Road more attractive to shoppers and help ease traffic flows. Henderson & Taylor successfully completed their works between August and October 2020 for Essex Highways.
The improvements include the installation of new paving slabs, kerbing for off-road parking along London Road along with refurbishment of existing bollards on the northern side and installation of similar new cast iron bollards to match on the southern side.
Two bus shelters have been removed and combined into a new double bus hard standing area which is designed to improve traffic flow on the route. A new bus shelter is due to be installed in February 2021.
In preparation for a future upgrade of the traffic signals at the London Road / Rectory Road junction, ducting has also been installed within the pavement to reduce the likelihood of disturbing these areas when the traffic signal renewal takes place. We anticipate the traffic signal renewal will take place in the 2021/22 financial year.
We would like to thank businesses, residents and Castle Point Borough Council for the support and co-operation shown during these activities.
