Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
Latest design drawings for the proposed Dovercourt Public Realm Scheme have now been published, highlighting changes made following feedback from the public consultation.
The consultation ran from November last year until January and provided a good insight into the public’s views, with more than two-thirds of people who completed the consultation survey supporting the proposals.
Thank you to everyone who shared their views as part of the consultation.
All responses to the consultation were analysed and the feedback is summarised in a public consultation report, which has now been published on the scheme webpage. A promoter’s response document has also been published and sets out the responses of the design team to the key points raised as part of the consultation.
A series of small design changes have now been made in response to feedback from both the consultation and a recent road safety audit, as well as further engagement with Historic England, local accessibility groups and key partners. These changes are summarised on the scheme webpage, alongside a latest design drawing which highlights the changes.
The project is now entering the detailed design stage before the tender process starts for a contractor to construct the scheme. Based on the current programme, we expect construction works to start in summer 2025.
