New Operator and timetable for Chelmsford Park and Ride

From 6 March there are new timetables and a new operator in place for Chelmsford Park and Ride.

From 6 March there are new timetables for Chelmsford Park and Ride. There will be two routes operating from Chelmer Valley and Sandon sites running separate loops around the city centre. The new timetables will restore the service to pre-pandemic capacity.

The services will run from:

  • Sandon: Monday to Friday 06:30 – 19:45 and Saturday 07:00 – 19:15
  • Chelmer Valley: Monday to Friday 06:30 – 21:30 and Saturday 07:00 – 20:30

Following a recent tender of the contract, the service will be operated by Vectare working on behalf of Essex County Council.

Individual fares remain unchanged but there will be a new offer of 12 tickets for the price of 11 at a cost of £39.60.

Councillor Lee Scott, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways Maintenance said: “With Covid restrictions being lifted and people returning to offices and the city centre, the new timetable will provide additional capacity for work, education and leisure. I highly recommend taking the Park and Ride for a convenient, stress-free and greener way of travelling to Chelmsford City Centre.”

Details of the new routes are below. Timetables will be available soon on our Park and Ride pages. Follow @essexhighways and @Essex_PT on twitter for updates.
