Planning application for Chelmsford North East Bypass

Essex County Council, working with Chelmsford City Council, submitted a planning application for the bypass, part of £250 million worth of investment which also includes a new railway station at Beaulieu.

Following an initial period of consultation, the council has responded to feedback given by providing clarification, additional information and some design changes relating to certain aspects of the scheme including noise, biodiversity, lighting, landscape and drainage.

As a result, the plans have been made available for a further 30-day period of consultation from Thursday January 13.
