Following a structural assessment, a 7.5 tonne weight restriction is being implemented at Alresford Bridge.
The diversion route for heavy vehicles can be viewed on One.Network.
The weight restriction will remain in place until further notice.
Arrangements have been made to carry out repair works at Alresford Viaduct. To gain access to the railway, works will also occupy the level crossing on Coach Road, Alresford, Colchester, CO7 8EA
In order to carry out the works in a safe manner, a number of overnight road closures will be required at the bridge. Road closures on St Osyth Road are currently scheduled to take place on the following dates:
Signed diversions will be in place during the road closures as no vehicles will be permitted to pass over the structure.
We appreciate these works may cause some local inconvenience however would like to assure you that it is important they are carried out. Please support us by taking additional care travelling in the area, allowing extra travelling time, and observing signage in place.
Please note that the programme may be subject to change if affected by poor weather or if unexpected issues arise.
