About the works

Arrangements have been made to renew the ageing traffic signals located on B1007 Staneway / B1036 Mandeville Way, Basildon.

Works are due to start on Monday 29 March 2021 and are expected to take approximately five weeks to complete.

Activities will include the replacing or renewing underground cable ducts in the carriageway and footways as well as replacing above-ground equipment. The pedestrian facilities will be upgraded from far side to near side. We will also be carrying out resurfacing works at the junction.

How it will affect you

The majority of the works will be carried out between the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday with lane restrictions in place managed by temporary traffic signals which will work in a similar way to the existing signals to control traffic.

We anticipate that a limited number of full road closures on Staneway and Mandeville Way will be required overnight to allow work to take place across the carriageway.

The road will reopen after each shift. Please note dates may be subject to change if affected by poor weather or if unexpected issues arise. The latest information will be reflected on site signage.

Advance warning notices will be used to advertise the works and appropriate diversions in place during temporary road closures.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and for safety we propose to install a temporary controlled pedestrian crossings across Staneway and Mandeville Way while the works take place.
